Club Competitions
We run 3 competitions each year open to all 1st claim club members.
Road Rankings
As the name suggests, the road rankings are a way of sorting club members road race results into an order. To calculate club members Road Rankings for each year we use five specified distances:
1 mile (this has to be the club mile)
5 Miles
10 Kilometres
10 Miles
Half Marathon
Club members best times for each event are first ranked with the runner who has the fastest time scoring 150 points, the next fastest 149, and so on. This means the maximum a runner can score if they have the fastest time for each distance is 600 points (4 x 150), if a runner finishes 2nd at two distances and 3rd at the other two distances then they would score 594 points (149+149+148+148).
The road rankings are separated into mens and ladies competitions, with 1st and 2nd places in each age categories receiving awards.

Trail Championship
A new competition for 2024!
Complete 6 out of 10 races to qualify, but one of these can be replaced with wildcard.
Wildcard option: Complete any off-road event including fell as long as it’s longer than 8.5 miles and between the start and finish of the championship.
At the close of the championship, members can submit their optional wildcard event result.
There are a few rules for the wildcard:
It can be run or walked because it’s based on distance, not time.
It must be an official event.
Distance declared must be the event advertised distance not including bonus miles clocked up getting lost/back on track.
Relay races are excluded.
The races in this year’s league are:
Chicken Run - 23rd March
Run Greno - 5th May
Midsummer Mad Dash - 20th June
Handsworth Hobble - 25th June
Thurlstone Chase - 6th July
Butcher’s Dog Leg - 7th August
Denby Dash - 26th August
Wickersley Chase - 7th September
Stairway to Heaven - 28th September
KMR Canal Race - 3rd November
Points for the Trail Championship are awarded as per your finishing position. There are separate male and female categories (50 points for first place, 49 points for second place, etc). Members who enter a wildcard will be awarded points based on their finishing position against other club members in that race.
Further details of each race can be found on our Race Events Page.
